Licensing Agreement

This Licensing Agreement ("Agreement") describes the intellectual property and content licensing relationship between Chronicle Creations Inc. ("Chronicle Creations," "we," "us," or "our") and you, regarding Dreambook and the content generated through it. This Agreement operates alongside our Privacy Policy and our User Agreement, which together govern your use of Dreambook.
By using Dreambook, you agree to this Licensing Agreement. You may review the full text of this Agreement, the Privacy Policy, and the User Agreement at any time within the app's account settings or at dreambook.kids.
1. Parties
This Agreement is between:
Licensor: Chronicle Creations Inc., a corporation federally incorporated in Canada.
Licensee: The parent or guardian who downloads, installs, or uses Dreambook on behalf of their family. References in this Agreement to “you” refer to the Licensee.
2. Ownership and Your Rights
2.1 What Chronicle Creations Owns
Chronicle Creations Inc. owns the Dreambook application, all pre-built characters created by Chronicle Creations (such as Tavi the Elephant and Max the Redhead), the illustration style and visual assets used in stories, the story-generation system, and all underlying intellectual property of the Dreambook service.
Generated stories, including the text and illustrations produced through the Dreambook service, are the property of Chronicle Creations Inc. This is because generated stories incorporate Chronicle Creations' pre-built characters, illustration style, and proprietary generation system.
2.2 What You Receive
Subject to the terms of this Agreement, Chronicle Creations grants you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable, worldwide, royalty-free license to access generated stories during the term of your Dreambook account. This license includes the rights described below.
When you create stories through Dreambook, you receive a broad, personal license to read, enjoy, save, and share those stories. You may share stories using the in-app Share feature, which creates a public link accessible to anyone with whom you choose to share it, in accordance with the rules described in our Privacy Policy. You may delete any stories from your account at any time, and we will remove them in accordance with our retention practices.
2.3 Chronicle Creations' Use of Generated Content
Chronicle Creations may use stories, illustrations, characters, or other content generated through Dreambook for purposes including: featuring exemplary stories in our Signature Series or curated collections; incorporating generated images, characters, or story elements into other Dreambook content or future stories; using generated content in marketing, promotional materials, or showcases; and improving the Dreambook service.
When Chronicle Creations uses generated content commercially, the content is fully anonymized before any external use. This means all personal information is removed: any account-identifying details, family-specific personalization, child's names, and any other identifying information are stripped from the content. The original user cannot be identified from the published version. Voice recordings and synthesized Custom Narrator data are never used for commercial purposes under any circumstances — these are biometric data with specific protections described in our Privacy Policy.
2.4 Voice Recordings and Custom Narrators
The licensing of voice recordings and synthesized narrators is governed by our Privacy Policy, which addresses these as biometric data with specific protections and parental control rights. Chronicle Creations does not use voice recordings or synthesized narrators for commercial purposes.
2.5 Restrictions
You may not:
- Sell stories generated through Dreambook
- Publish stories commercially in print or digital form for sale
- Use stories in advertising or promotional materials
- Claim authorship or ownership of the underlying Chronicle Creations intellectual property
- Modify, reverse engineer, or extract the underlying Chronicle Creations characters or AI generation system
- Use Chronicle Creations' characters, names, or likenesses outside of Dreambook (as further described in Section 5)
2.6 Reservation of Rights
All rights not expressly granted to you under this Agreement are reserved by Chronicle Creations. No license or other right is granted by implication, estoppel, or otherwise.
3. User Prompts and Inputs
When you use Dreambook, you provide selections and inputs that shape generated stories — character choices, story tones, themes, and other customization. These inputs are processed to generate the requested story output and are retained as part of your account history.
Chronicle Creations does not use your inputs to train our AI models. We do not have a machine learning pipeline that ingests user content to alter AI behavior. Story prompts sent to Google's Gemini API are processed under enterprise terms that prohibit use of customer inputs for training Google's foundational models.
Chronicle Creations may analyze aggregate, de-identified patterns across all users — such as which story categories are popular, which features are most used, or which themes resonate with different age groups — to inform our product decisions, identify opportunities for new content, and improve the Dreambook service. These aggregate insights do not involve reviewing individual user inputs and do not identify any specific account.
4. Sharing Generated Stories
Dreambook's Share feature allows you to share generated stories with others by creating a link to a web page on dreambook.kids that displays the story. Use of the Share feature is subject to the parental gate and consent requirements described in our Privacy Policy.
When you share a story, recipients receive a personal viewing license. They may view, read, and enjoy the shared story for their personal, non-commercial use. They may forward the link to others while it remains live. They do not receive any rights to copy, modify, sell, publish, or commercially use the shared content.
Chronicle Creations retains all intellectual property rights in shared stories, including the story content, illustrations, characters, and any narration audio included. The shared content is hosted on Chronicle Creations' infrastructure, and Chronicle Creations may modify or remove shared content at any time, including in response to a parent deleting the underlying story.
Stories shared via the Share feature do not include account information, parent or child names, or any identifier linking the story back to a specific family, as described in our Privacy Policy.
5. Chronicle Creations Characters and Branding
Pre-built characters created by Chronicle Creations (including Tavi the Elephant, Max the Redhead, and other named characters that appear in Dreambook) are protected by trademark, copyright, and other intellectual property laws. The names, likenesses, and personalities of these characters are owned by Chronicle Creations Inc.
Within stories generated through Dreambook, you may use these characters as part of your personal storytelling experience. Outside of Dreambook, you may not use Chronicle Creations' characters, names, or likenesses for any purpose without our prior written permission, including in derivative works, fan content, merchandise, social media branding, or commercial materials.
6. Content Warranties
Stories and other content generated through Dreambook are produced by AI systems and are provided as generated. Chronicle Creations does not warrant that generated content will be free from coincidental similarity to existing works, free from common phrases or terms that may be trademarked or copyrighted by others, or unique in expression. Chronicle Creations' AI systems are designed to generate original storytelling using our pre-built characters and proprietary generation framework.
If you become aware of generated content that you believe infringes a third party's intellectual property rights, please contact us at contact@chroniclecreations.co so we can investigate.
The general limitation of liability and warranty disclaimers applicable to your use of Dreambook are described in our User Agreement.
6.1 IP Indemnification
If a third party brings a claim against you alleging that your use of Chronicle Creations' pre-built characters or platform IP within Dreambook (in accordance with this Agreement) infringes their intellectual property rights, Chronicle Creations will defend or settle the claim at our expense, provided you notify us promptly of the claim and reasonably cooperate with our defense. Chronicle Creations is not responsible for claims arising from your misuse of Dreambook content, your unauthorized use of Chronicle Creations characters or branding outside of Dreambook, or your modifications to Dreambook content.
7. License Termination
Your license to use stories generated through Dreambook continues as long as your Dreambook account is active. If your relationship with Dreambook ends — whether by your account deletion, subscription cancellation, or termination by Chronicle Creations as described in our User Agreement — your license to access content through the Dreambook service ends with it.
Stories you have shared via the Share feature remain accessible at their public URLs until you delete the underlying story or your account. Once deleted, the share links are disabled and the content is no longer accessible.
Chronicle Creations' ownership of generated content (as described in Section 2) survives termination. The aggregate insights and anonymized commercial uses described in Section 2 are not affected by individual account termination, because such uses are de-identified.
8. Apple's Role
Dreambook is distributed through the Apple App Store. Comprehensive Apple-required terms regarding maintenance, warranty, product claims, intellectual property, and Apple's status as a third-party beneficiary are described in our User Agreement, Section 8. You and Chronicle Creations acknowledge that Apple is also a third-party beneficiary of this Licensing Agreement and has the right to enforce its terms against you.
9. Changes to This Licensing Agreement
Chronicle Creations may update this Licensing Agreement from time to time to reflect changes in our services, our business practices, or applicable law. When we make changes, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this Agreement.
For material changes that affect your rights regarding generated content, ownership, or content licensing, we will notify the parent account holder by email and through an in-app notification of the change. Non-material changes (such as typographical corrections, formatting adjustments, or clarifications that do not affect substance) may be made without notice.
Continued use of Dreambook after notification of a material change constitutes acceptance of the updated Agreement. If you do not agree to a material change, you may delete the account directly within the app's account settings or by contacting contact@chroniclecreations.co.
10. Governing Law and Disputes
This Agreement is governed by the laws of British Columbia, Canada and the federal laws of Canada applicable in British Columbia, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any disputes arising out of or in connection with this Agreement shall be resolved in the courts of British Columbia, Canada, and you and Chronicle Creations Inc. consent to the exclusive jurisdiction of those courts.
Nothing in this Agreement limits your rights as a consumer under the laws of your country of residence. If the laws of your country of residence give you the right to bring legal action against Chronicle Creations Inc. in your local courts, or provide consumer protections that this Agreement cannot lawfully override, those rights are preserved. Where any provision of this Agreement is unenforceable in your jurisdiction due to mandatory consumer protections, the remainder of the Agreement remains in effect.
11. Severability
If any provision of this Agreement is held to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable in any jurisdiction, that provision will be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it enforceable, or, if modification is not possible, severed from this Agreement. The remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect. The invalidity or unenforceability of any provision in one jurisdiction does not affect the validity or enforceability of that provision in other jurisdictions.
12. Assignment
Chronicle Creations may assign or transfer this Agreement, including any of our rights and obligations under it, to a successor entity in the context of a merger, acquisition, sale of assets, corporate reorganization, or similar transaction. We will provide notice of any such assignment that materially affects users.
You may not assign or transfer this Agreement, the licenses granted to you under it, or any rights granted to you under this Agreement to any other person without our prior written consent. Any attempted assignment in violation of this provision is void.
13. Entire Agreement
This Agreement, together with the Privacy Policy and the User Agreement, constitutes the entire agreement between you and Chronicle Creations regarding Dreambook and supersedes all prior or contemporaneous communications, agreements, or understandings, whether written or oral, on this subject. No statements, promises, or representations made outside this Agreement form part of our agreement with you, except as specifically incorporated by reference.

Dreambook is operated by Chronicle Creations Inc., a corporation federally incorporated in Canada.
